The 122nd season of the BBC Proms has kicked off, and this year again, a lot of Finns are featured, both in the music played and the musicians. For eight weeks, the world’s greatest classical music festival offers more than 90 concerts, and tickets are affordable. From a Finnish perspective, Sibelius will be played on August 8th, and the Proms feature several famous Finnish conductors such as Sakari Oramo and Johan Storgards, as well as singer Karita Mattila.
