Create the Finnish-British Chamber of Commerce a new logo –contest!
2 Apr 2012 - 11:09pm
FBCC is an independent, non-profit organisation, recognised throughout the Finnish, British and international business communities. FBCC is committed to providing its members with excellent opportunities for intelligent networking through exclusive business and social events.
Task Description: we are looking for a fresh talent who can design a new logo for the Chamber. The logo needs to incorporate the text ‘Finnish-British Chamber of Commerce’ and preferably, but not necessarily, the abbreviation FBCC and/or a symbol. The logo will be used widely on the company website, social media platforms, banners and leaflets, professional letterheads and business cards, and other traditional and digital media marketing forms.
The current logo has the heading text “Finnish-British Chamber of Commerce” in light blue and white and a subheading text “intelligent networking” in red below it. We feel that the new logo should have darker shades and hues of blue, white and red on the text and/or a symbol, since this correlates better to the sharp business image of the Chamber.
Preferred: Wide logos, word and name based logos with/without simple picture, blue/red/white colour theme due to their connections to both the British and Finnish flags, neat and professional
What to avoid: Busy looking logos, standard clip art logos, cartoonish logos, tall logos, logos without ‘Finnish-British Chamber of Commerce’ or ‘FBCC’ text on them
Deadline:18th April, 2012
Procedures: Email your logo and your contact details to events@fbcc.co.uk with an email subject of “FBCC logo competition”
Tieto participates in Earth Hour 2012
30 Mar 2012 - 2:49pm

For the fourth consecutive year, Tieto participates in the global blackout Earth Hour - a worldwide event organized by WWF to promote environmentally sustainable action. Earth Hour 2012 will take place on Saturday 31 March at 8:30 – 9:30 PM (local time).
“Global warming and climate change concerns all of us – people, companies and societies. In Tieto, we continuously strive to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from our operations through energy efficient technology in data centres, Green Office programmes and internal collaboration tools to reduce travelling to mention a few of our initiatives. Naturally we also take part in the Earth Hour to show our commitment to sustainable development”, says Carl-Harald Andersson, head of Corporate Responsibility in Tieto.
In 2011 alone, more than 5 200 cities and towns in 135 countries worldwide switched off their lights for Earth Hour 2011, sending a powerful message for action on climate change. This year Earth Hour has launched “I Will If You Will” on YouTube to showcase how everyone has the power to change the world we live in, bringing together the world’s biggest social video platform with the world’s largest action for the environment.
“In Tieto, we will switch off all non-critical lights and signs in our main offices during this hour, and preparations are already on-going. We also urge all our employees to participate by closing all lights they can during this hour. Hundreds of millions of people, businesses and governments around the world unite each year to support this event, says Carl-Harald Andersson.
