The Finnish Ambassador’s residence is hosting an afternoon networking event between leading Finnish company Outokumpu Stainless and selected leading UK governmental, academic, not-for-profit organisations and UK-based companies with an interest to drive forward the need for greater levels of sustainability in the built environment in the UK.
Outokumpu Stainless is Europe’s largest stainless-steel producer with head office in Helsinki, and strong manufacturing interests in Finland and UK.
The event will focus on the theme of sustainability in the use of modern stainless-steel engineering materials, with particular focus on the opportunity to transform thinking about these materials and their role in society. Stainless steel is a British invention and an engineering material with a remarkable combination of properties giving high quality and cost-effective long-life solutions to the word’s infrastructure challenges. Outokumpu focusses on producing stainless steel in an environmentally advantageous way and encourages its use to maximise environmental benefit.
