As the current General Manager, Jade Juvonen, will take on new challenges later this spring, the position for the General Manager of FBCC is now open for interested candidates as described below.
FBCC is looking for a new General Manager in a permanent position. Working as a part of a small but dynamic team, you are the driving force of the organisation. You will be responsible for the operational management of FBCC, though some of your responsibilities are shared with the Marketing and Events Coordinator. This all-rounder role includes responsibilities from day-to-day management of the organisation, to promotion of its services and sales of memberships, financial management, and organising events.
Responsibilities:
- Digital Marketing;
- Content creation for website, newsletters, social media
- Updating and maintaining the website and all FBCC social media accounts
- Creating printed materials for events, e.g. flyers and brochures
- Creating questionnaires for members regarding the services and events organised
- Event organising;
- Organising approximately 30 events per year from initial idea creation to planning, budgeting and delivery
- Scouting for new event venues, suppliers, speakers, etc.
- Raising sponsorships for events
- Financial Management:
- Daily book-keeping
- Invoicing, paying bills
- Creating the annual budget and all events’ budgets
- Other responsibilities:
- Recruitment, training, and managing a part-time marketing coordinator to work as a part of your team
- Being the primary point of contact to all FBCC members,
- Sourcing new Corporate and Patron members
- Reporting to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and organising quarterly board meetings and an Annual General Meeting
- Creating the annual business plan and financial forecasts
About you:
- As a minimum, Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, marketing, or other relevant subject, and a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years work experience in a business management environment
- Existing, and long term, settled status in the UK
- Fluent English and Finnish, both written and spoken is essential, and other languages appreciated
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people across all levels of business and various industries.
- Good time-management skills, with ability to multitask and effectively prioritise incoming workload;
- Experience with various software desirable (MS Office, InDesign, Xero) and excellent social media knowledge;
- Independent, proactive and innovative approach to work, with the ability to take initiatives and come up with new ideas;
- Highly driven, ambitious and assertive;
- Effective leadership and people management skills;
- A good team player.
