FBCC warmly welcomes a new Corporate member: Give Opportunity Global!

FBCC is proud to announce a new Corporate member: Give Opportunity Global (GOG).

GOG is a volunteer-led NGO based here in London, Charity No. 1156367. We support children to access education in Africa through building schools, classrooms, and education sponsorship. In addition, we support women’s economic empowerment to alleviate poverty through micro-finance schemes.

So far, we have helped to build 5 schools, educated over 11,000 children to access education and some of the children have gone on to graduate as doctors, teachers, nurses, lawyers, administrators to mention but a few.

Also, we have uplifted over 3,050 women and youth out of poverty, through our economic empowerment projects. Entrepreneurship and innovation are at the heart of our mission to empower women as one of the main actors in addressing the inequalities and achieve UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to end poverty.

We invite you to get involved in our charity and together make a difference.

First ever Finnish sauna at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 21-26.09.2021

The first ever Finnish sauna for RHS Chelsea Flower Show will be presented at Taina Suonio’s design, ‘The Finnish Soul Garden’. The design showcases a variety of Finnish coastal plants and a genuine Finnish wood-heated sauna. The sauna has a vegetated roof with plants chosen specifically on the University of Helsinki’s Fifth Dimension Research Group’s work on studying which native plants survive on vegetated roofs in the harsh Finnish climate conditions.

“The garden by Taina Suonio is a demonstration of the clean and quiet environment of Finland and offers a unique window to the Finnish soul”, says Ms Jaana Husu-Kallio, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Finland.

The designer, Taina Suonio is a horticulturist, environmental biologist, researcher, and landscape designer in the Fifth Dimension – Green Roofs in Urban Areas research group at the University of Helsinki, Finland.

We are thrilled to be working together with Taina Suonio and cannot wait to see her design live!  More information and tickets from RHS Chelsea Flower Show!
