We are happy to introduce two new board members: Sir Richard Snowden and Ioli Tassopoulou. We would also like to express our warmest thanks to Cormac Whelan, who is stepping down from the board. While we are sad to see Mr. Whelan go, we are grateful for the time he has served on FBCC’s board. We wish you all the best!
Sir Richard Snowden graduated in law from the University of Cambridge and then Harvard Law School, where he met his wife, Kirsti Niinisalo in 1984. They returned to the UK where Richard practised as a barrister and QC specialising in business law for 30 years before being appointed as a High Court Judge in 2015. Kirsti was the head of legal at Nordea for many years and was the Chairman of the FBCC and a board member from its inception until she retired due to ill-health in 2019. Richard has been an active member of the FBCC and the Finnish/British community in the UK throughout that time. They have two adult sons with dual Finnish/British nationality. They live in Sussex and regularly visit Helsinki and their family cottage near Kouvola.
